The following modules are available within The Learning and Skills Office platform to support the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of Exams Managers/Officers and Senior Leaders:

Exam regulations (for Senior Leaders and Exams Managers/Officers)

This module has been created to support centres in meeting JCQ requirements as set out in section 5 of the General Regulations for Approved Centres which states that:
'It is the responsibility of the head of centre to ensure that their centre...has in place a member of the senior leadership team who has a good working knowledge of the examination system, will provide effective line management support and supervision of the examinations officer to ensure that the integrity and security of examinations and assessments are maintained throughout an examination series'.
The contents within each unit provide an introduction to the following JCQ guidance (Please note that Senior Leaders and exams office personnel must familiarise themselves with the entire contents of relevant JCQ documents):
  • General Regulations for Approved Centres (Effective from 1 September 2026)
  • A guide to the special consideration process (Effective from 1 September 2025)
